The Australian Off Road Championship (AORC) commenced in 1981 and showcases the best off road competitors, cars and events from around the country with various classes of specially modified vehicles.
AORC events are conducted on a track of atleast 15 kilometres in length. The courses and tracks used are often narrow, twisting, tree lined tracks, undulating farmland tracks, mountain tracks and river crossings, sometimes incorporating man made jumps and other obstacles.
Off Road Racing is an exciting and adrenalin filled discipline of motor sport and is growing in stature with an increasing number of competitors looking to take up the challenge.
Scott Davis and navigator Ben Hoskins, from Nowra have started their 2012 racing season finishing 1st outright in their Pro buggy at Colo. The team has recently upgraded to a Weddle gearbox to mount up to the Nissan V6 Turbo Charged power plant. An attempt to gain more reliability, a move which has proved successful on their first outing for this season.
We wish them all the best for the remainder of 2012.
